I removed the back panel. You will see a black drain hose underneath once panel is removed (about 10 screws). Removing the black hose gives you some access to the filter and to the drain. I removed a bra pad, popsicle stick, earring, bracelet and now my machine is working great. I also shortened my drain hose in the back so it didn't have to travel as far.

This was heavy, difficult work. We think this is Maytag using up old parts (whatever was available at the time) and hoping people don’t notice the HUGE problems created by their actions.
