You may as well wash all of your clothes by hand! This washer wastes time, energy and money. I have lived with this washer for about 2.5 years. In that time, it has sporadically but repeatedly failed to completely saturate the clothes with water. I have removed clothing that is still dry, despite having gone through an HOUR of washing. That's the other thing about this machine. It takes forever. It's loud. And the timer display is not even accurate. It will display 1:00 (an hour) and then will take more than an hour to run. I've also had expensive lingerie destroyed so badly it looked as if it had been used as a tug of war toy between two dogs. A dime failed to pass the pocket-emptying test and ended up in the washer, got sucked or fell into the crack in the bottom of the wash bin, taking the slip along with it. The slip is riddled with holes. It has also destroyed multple bras ($40 apiece). If you want to your home to sound like a noisy industrial area for many hours per week, buy this. If you want you clothes destroyed, buy this. If you want your clothes to be unclean, buy this. If you want to take time out of your day to periodically lift the lid (which is glass but is so dark that you cannot actually see into the wash basin -- so what's the point?!) to see if your clothes are being submersed in water, buyt his. If you want to stop the washer to stick your hands or a broom handle into the basin to ensure that your clothes do get covered in water, buy this. Personally, I HATE this machine. It' has damaged Maytag's reputation and I will likely never buy another Maytag product again. (maytag model mvwb765fc2, serial C81771339, type 589-02)
When I have time to mess with photos, I will upload pix of the dry shirt and the ripped slip -- more time out of my life that I should not have to waste. Maytag = bad quality.
