As long you leave the door open after each wash and clean it once a month with Affresh you won't have a problem. Also, Affresh has clean wipes now for the rubber seal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I bought mine in 2021, I always leave the door open after every wash, have sanitized it, cleaned the gasket with bleach and scrubbed it, only to have mold return within weeks. I’m getting rid of it since my daughter is sensitive to mold. Even when I’ve cleaned it, there is mold in places I can’t reach in the rubber gasket. I don’t live in a particularly humid climate, so it’s not that either. I am purchasing a top loader instead. I’m done washing our clothes in a moldy washer, it can’t be healthy for any of us.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Substantial improvements have been made to the new Front Load Washer. The Washer has a Clean Affresh Product cycle to use after 30 loads. It has tumble cycle up to 16 hours to reduce wrinkles but also circulate air (periodic tumble). Design improvements to front gasket to drain and access. My last Maytag Front Load had the mold issue. I still replaced with Maytag due to its durability, and improvements for mold avoidance. That washer lasted 20 years and while I do not expect this one to last 20 years, I'm still sold on the product, and a front loader.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, my Maytag washer purchased from Best Buy is full of mold despite regular maintenance efforts and leaving the door open between washes. It’s only 2 years old and basically junk now because water sits in the back of the machine. We had a whirlpool front loader for 15years with no mold problem. Best Buy doesn’t stand behind their 5 year protection plan. There’s no way to prevent mold inside the Maytag front loader that we have. You can’t see it because it starts from the back of the machine. They scheduled a repair man from Nite Owl, he said it was not repairable and said it should be exchanged but wrote something else in his report, so claim was denied due to “improper maintenance.”
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Suzi! We currently do not have any quality concerns with this. However, we do recommend leaving the door open after every wash and cleaning the unit once a month with affresh Washer cleaner.
