“Is there a way to make the drum light turn off automatically? The drum light stays on unless I press the button to turn it off each time. Typically, a drum light turns off once the door is closed. That is not the case with this machine.”

Why do I need to watch the progress of clothes drying? The default for these machines should be, “Drum Light Off”! In the age of being “green” I find this feature useless!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I found that you must turn on the Maytag dryer before opening the dryer door and placing clothes inside and then the drum light will go out and stay off regardless of the cycle selected.
