I purchased this MEDIA SONIC ATSC DVR AND CONVERTER BOX some weeks back and have used a 256GB SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB 2.0 USB Flash Drive to successfully make DVR recordings. I have read in reviews of this DVR that some types of flash drives may NOT work very well and that "in general" external hard drives work better with this unit. I have not used an external hard drive with my unit, so I can't speak to that issue. I have also read that "very large" flash drives may not work well either, but again, I have used nothing but the SanDisk model I noted above so I can't speak to that issue either. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can, but it can only be played on this unit, you cannot play it on another device. I would recommend at least a 64GB flash drive, more if you want to archive what you record.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes there's a USB port on the front. Owner's manual says that you can record realtime or setup to record a program in the future. I don't see any mention of a maximum gig drive allowed. In the store they told me to get at least 64 but, I don't record. It comes in handy for me if I have to pause a show.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can, I have an external hard drive. The downfall is that only records live events.
