No. Alexa is built in, no additional plug is needed

It comes with a power cable for a standard North American outlet, e.g. it has a NEMA 1-15P plug for use with the NEMA 5-15R and 1-15R outlets you’d find in any home. The big Portal+ has a grounded 5-15P plug and so requires a grounded 5-15R receptacle as you’d find in any modernized home. Also note that Facebook Portal isn’t an Amazon product, but it does run Alexa (with some reduced features) so it can be part of an Amazon Smarthome setup.
