Sadly, no. It is a useful addition, although the Duo will not charge the new Surface Slim pen that it is designed to work with! I have found that any of the cheaper pens/stylus designed for Surface devices work great.

Pen is sold separately. The pen is nice though, and works well with the phone.

Yes, with the mico-thin sleeve available from Microsoft that slips over one "side" of the device. The pen then magnetically attaches to the sleeve while charging. I've had the device for more than 12-months now and have not lost my pen, and it continues to charge reliably. It makes an excellent device (even in 2023!) more excellent!

No, the Slim Pen 2 along with the pen cover, is well worth the investment.
