How can you tell if it's charging? null

2 ways: 1. Where charger is connected to surface see if it has a glowing bright light. If so, it is charging. 2. While surface is on, where the battery icon is on your task bar, it should have what looks like a plug with a continous filling and emptying of battery action. If still not sure, roll cursor over battery without clicking on it and it should say "charging" or something to that effect.

It's charging once you put it in the charger and the light turns on. The only thing is, the light does not indicate if the laptop is fully charged. So you will need to turn it on or wake it up to see how much it has charged.
