“I forgot my password on my new computer and was told I need a new operating system. Is this true? If so how much it remove the old operating system and to install the new one?”

It is real easy and dont take long just the window you need to back up your stuff
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is noy true. I would suggest doing a recovery reset and if that dont work you will have to wipe out the mother board and factory reset. You will not have to purchase a new system . You can always take it in to the geek squad and they can recover your password even just try calling them an they can walk you thru how to do it.
