• Installing a Windows Pro license key on a system that originally came with Windows Home will not replace the existing Windows Home key stored in the BIOS. Buying and installing a Windows Pro license key will upgrade your current installation from Home to Pro. The Windows operating system manages this upgrade and doesn't modify the BIOS key itself.

• The SHA256 encryption (TPM) stored in BIOS. If you have a OEM (Non-home built PC) it is stored in BIOS. Your keys are typically saved to your Microsoft account if you don't have an OEM key.
