“Mophie or Otterbox I was wondering what would be the bet cases out of these 2 for a first time iphone user and does the mophie case have a plastic screen protector like otterbox and i want something that charges like mophie but looks nice and layered with protection like the otterbox.”

I actually have the Juice Pack Plus for my iPhone5 but any Mophie pack does well. The plus gives me about 200% additional battery time. It doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone either. However, there is no screen protector built in on any of the Mophie cases. It's just 2 pieces that you slide into place on the phone. I purchased an ArmorSuit screen protector from Amazon which is the equivalent of Zagg which BBY sells. I don't drop my phone a lot but the newer Mophie cases are supposed to be durable enough to protect your phone, just like the Otterbox, from falls and things of that nature.

That said, I have dropped my phone twice (I hardly ever do that, but . . . .), on hard surfaces, with my Mophie case, and no problem. There is no protective cover, but just get a screen cover (clear plastic sheet that fits exactly on the face of the phone). You will DEF love the added battery. Why get all of the power of the iPhone and then not be able to use it for half the day because you are at 1% battery??

Please try again later.The mophie case provides a high level of protection to your phone, it does not come with a screen protector, but Zagg screen protectors are the best. Mophie cases also have a bit of a lip on the front of the phone that is an extra protective measurement. You can't go wrong with any of the mophie cases.

It's going to give you lots of protection with many layers but is very bulky and thick. The mophie is going to give you decent protection and will protect your phone from many drops. I would go with the mophie because while it is protective, it charges your phone which is great.
