A:Answer When setting up this modem, the first time you connect, you'll get a web page login that asks for your xFinity user name and password - this is the same as what you use to pay your bill online typically.
If you're going to use your own wireless router like I did, you may have to clone the MAC address of the PC you use onto your router when setting it up for the first time. I think the login and setup wizard Comcast uses takes the MAC address of the device attached to the cable modem so naturally, if you connect multiple devices via a wireless router, it may force you to login again if the MAC address changes for whatever reason. However if you just clone the MAC address of your PC to your router the first time you log into Comcast, your router will store the MAC address of the account used to sign up, and it should all be good.
Once I did this, I never got the login page again and everything seems to work great. This should be a pretty common feature of wireless routers and can be found on the router's web based configuration page - at least it has been for me on the various devices I've purchased over the years.
