Therefore, you have the freedom to shop for the latest phones and plans as often — or as infrequently — as you like. Plus, they don't come preloaded with numerous carrier applications that that take up space on your phone. And when it comes to international travel, unlocked phones can't be beat. The only downside id that you pay full price for the phone instead of discounted prices of a specific phone under a contract with a specific carrier. When you purchase a unlock phone; you would remove the sim card from the your current phone and place it in the new phone. Once completed, all your cell service with work through the new phone, however, you would be responsible for transferring files, pictures, contacts, any apps not already on the new phone, etc. If you already have a microSD card in your current phone; just copy everything on that first, then, remove it and add it to the new phone. If your current phone doesn't have a sim card; then you won't be able to use a unlocked phone.
