A:AnswerYou do not need to be a new customer you can be current custermers or not a custermers at all but if you buy it to use later and not a sprint user it will cost you $40 more . Your can transfer your number over to it that's what I did .
A:AnswerIt's simple. Save $40 by activating it when you buy it (BestBuy of course gets a backend commission for any activations) or if you aren't ready to activate on the spot/time of purchase or buying as a gift for someone else or for any myriad of reasons, then it's $160.

Even though Virgin Mobile is a Sprint MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator/prepaid carrier) and runs off the Sprint network, you'll have to have Virgin Mobile add the ESN/MEID/IMEI to their database (and upload the correct prl) for it to activate. It's possible, just not out of the box.
