The charger shown is a solar panel and a additional panel is needed. If the area that the doorbell does not get any sunlight you would need a different solar panel all together and the unit shown would just be an additional expense

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No you can’t use the charger and solar panel at the same time. The solar panel doesn’t keep the battery charged as it should. The battery charge last the same as it did without the solar panel. Too late to return the solar panel for a refund by the time I realized it wasn’t working.
