“Can the hot plate be turned on without brewing a pot of coffee?”

• As far as I know, it cannot. Once it goes through it’s brew cycle, the hot plate stays on for four hours. I guess you could run a cycle with water if you just wanted the hot plate on for something else.

• Yes. Just click the “Brew” button. Even if the water tank is empty the plate will still heat up.
