No, I believe you need to update the BIOS before you can use the Ryzen 5000 series chips on this board. I have this board personally and there were 3 new bios updates that I had to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the box and instructions do not specify Ryzen 5000 support, then you might need to update the BIOS. If the Board is newer or newly manufactured, the Board will come with newer firmware and they will likely update packaging and instructions to specify support. If you buy right now, you would need to make sure it has version 7C37v1C released on 11/4/2020. This includes AMD AGESA 1.1.0.0 which is required for Ryzen 5000 support. See this site for the BIOS update: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MPG-X570-GAMING-EDGE-WIFI
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It may need a bios update via flash(recommended), but it will not require a previous series chip installed or other components. Download bios update from MSI to a thumb drive, connect 24 pin board connection to power supply unit, refer to the motherboard directions and insert thumb drive into corresponding usb port, power on the psu and press the flash bios button Follow instructions from bios download, you may need to rename the bios file Usually take a few minutes to load
