It depends on how you are going to install your operating system. If you only have the disc for the OS then yes, you will need the disc drive. But if you have it on a USB flash drive all you have to do is plug the USB in and the motherboard will detect that it has the OS on it and install from there. Drivers and everything else you'll need can be found online through the manufacturers website.

Please try again later.You can install drivers on MSI website directly onto a flash drive but you will probably need a program like Win Raw to extract the files from the USB. They come in ZIP files. But it also comes with a disc to install drivers. Only operating systems available for downloading are for windows 10.
