Your Z97 motherboard is quite old and nothing new will with in it. It uses DDR3 memory, we now use DDR4. It has a socket 1150, we are on socket 1151 with the 9th generation, and 1200 on the 10th (and soon coming 11th) generation processors. You cannot use the memory, cpu, or motherboard in a new build, but you may be able to use peripheral items such as hard drive, optical drive, power supply (maybe), case, keyboard, and mouse. You will need to buy a new motherboard, cpu, and memory at the very least. However, remember that new motherboards have M.2 NVME connectors, making booting and program loading extremely fast. You may be able to sell the memory as used, same with the cpu and other parts, but do not expect much.

This motherboard is for the newest generation (12th.) If that isn't what you have you need to look online because big box retailers don't carry realistic parts, they'll only carry what they're sent which will only be whatever is the newest. Sometimes you might find an old one in stock in the store, but yeah... you need to find out what generation your processor is. Also, no your ram will not work. Here are the highlighted specs from the store site: Processor Socket Socket LGA 1200 Memory Slot Type 288-pin DIMM
