Same thing happened to my MSI monitor. Some of these monitors are defective, and will go black during gameplay or won't turn on when starting PC. My first MSI monitor would go blank/black in the middle of gaming, randomnly for 10-15 seconds. My second monitor doesn't, but sometimes will go black when booting up. The only fix is to return the monitor to MSI for warranty repair.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ran into this post I hope you have found a solution by now. But I’m experiencing the same issues . It seems to happen only during gaming . I think it has to do with the 144hz and the Nvidia card you’re running. I noticed it does go away if you scale down to 120hz. You can only turn on and FreeSync from monitor if it detects a display port cable .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check you Windows Settings, on Windows 10 search for settings in the bottom right corner of the screen next to the Windows Icon (Start Menu). In settings, search for "Power and Sleep" and open it. From there, you can change when the screen turns off. If it is turning off while you are not idle, check the monitor settings. (Press the power button once quickly on the monitor) Navigate with the button down to setup, turn power off on/off (I do not know what this does, but its worth a shot) For 144hz, you can get to it with or without freesync on. The only way to get to 144hz is with a DisplayPort Cable, which not all graphics cards have. If yours does, you can buy one online (Its just a cable like HDMI or DVI)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The reason it keeps going black is probably because the cables are not quite in the graphics card or monitor. Or since you said you tried to swithc the cables its probably that the graphics card is not screwed in tightly and is loose. Hope that answers your question
