A:Answer The debate about 1 vs 2 subwoofers is silly. It is about placement. The human ear cannot determine direction of sound when it comes to subwoofer frequency. The reason people think they can hear direction of a subs audio is because of sence of feel. If a sub is placed on the extreme left side of a large room for example, the vibration of the floor can be FELT emanating from the left.
If you blindfolded a person, and you kept the volume low enough as to not have the ground shake, a person could not tell you where the subwoofer frequency is coming from.
However, we all get subs to shake the room. So if at all possible, place your sub as centralized to your viewing location as possible, and it will perform fantastically. Location of an explosion is produced by the mid range frequency of your other speakers. I know this is a long answer, but when it comes to this subject, people need to understand that a sub frequency is non directional to the human ear
