Yes, it cleans hard wood, ceramic tiles and carpets as well as area rugs.

Yes, it does sweep hard wood floors, perfectly.

If you mean does it "mop" a hardwood floor with a "wet" cleaning pad, the answer is no. If you mean does it "vacuum" clean a hardwood floor, that is what is does best. It will get the surface dirt off of a rug like all robotic vacuum cleaners that I am aware of do, but it and other robotic vacuums will not deep-clean a rug like your mother's Hoover.

It will vacuum hardwood floors. It does not mop them though, or work with wet substances on them. So spilled dry things, dust, dirt, pet fur, yes. Stains, spilled milk, chili, no.
