You can remove the drip tray(we do) and it will hold up to a 5" cup. I use a big mug and it fits. You cannot get the standard travel mug under there because most are too tall. The machine only makes two sizes, 1.35 oz espresso, 3.70 oz lungo. We recently purchased our mini and really like it as an add on to our Mr. Coffee and Keurig.
