You'll need to use Google services including google Photos and their cloud to use it as a photo frame. Everything else operates like a Google Home/Nest Mini including smart home features and routines but with beneficial visual cues. I'd recommend Youtube videos for further instructions. Though not essential it works fantastic with the Nest Hello Doorbells and Nest Cameras for monitoring guests, and for security purposes.
