Arris Surfboard SBG6700-AC is a modem/router combo. You won't need to purchase a separate modem for Nest Wifi system to work with it. But, when you connect Nest Wifi router to your modem/router combo, you will technically have two routers, each broadcasting its own private Wi-Fi network. This situation is called a Double NAT and may lead to some problems depending on your use of Wi-Fi. You can either put your modem/router combo in Bridge mode or disable the Wi-Fi functionality of your combo to avoid Double NAT. Here is a link for you to find out more about Bridge mode and Double NAT : https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6240987?hl=en If you prefer to disable your combo's Wi-Fi functionality, you can reach out to your internet service provider (ISP).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i have arris surfboard SBG6900-ac and works amazing. You don't need to purchase another modem because this is a modem with router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The main router has two Ethernet ports. One connects to your modem (to access the internet). The other connects to any wired device or another switch for more wired devices. If you only need Wifi then just connect the cable from arris Modem to the back of google Nest Wifi and install the app on your SmartPhone to complete install and configure Pwd,etc. The other 2 units do not have any wired connections, they only broadcast and receive WiFi signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.works with any modem from your ISP provider. Works exactly like any other wifi broadcaster but with the advantage of the mesh add-ons. I just plugged it into my arris modem from cox cable and did the easy set-up using the google app and it was running within 10min or less
