Wi-Fi connection is necessary for the setup of your Nest × Yale Lock. Although it doesn’t connect directly to Wi-Fi, it uses Weave to connect to a Nest Connect or Nest Guard in your home. Your Connect or Guard will then connect to your Wi-Fi network and communicate with the Nest app. Once your Nest x Yale Lock is all set, you’ll still be able to unlock your door with the keypad if the Wi-Fi goes down, but you won’t be able to use the Nest app to control your lock or change settings. You also won’t get any notifications from the lock. Check this link for more info: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9251009
