This modem requires a CAT5 IP Cable connection. It does not have a WI FI transmitter built in. Your router may provide that functionality, many do. I am not familiar with Sparklight, but generally if the input from your ISP comes over a coax cable, I would think it is likely that this will work. Why not ask them?
