A bit overdue but a Cat5E or better is recommended since this switch supports gigabit speeds to get the maximum performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would make sure your cable is at least Cat5e so that it supports gigabit connection but otherwise yes its good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need at least a Cat6 cable, Cat7 is even better. A Cat5 cable may introduce errors and result in slower speeds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cat5 should work, I am using cat6 cables everywhere.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have both CAT 5 and CAT 6 plugged into the switch. I don't know about CAT 7.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use cat5 in my home, wired 15 years ago and connncetivity is fine. Consider cat6 if you need faster bandwidth for example if gaming
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it's a 100 Mb connection, CAT 5 is fine. If it's a gigabit connection, you might be able to get away with CAT 5 if it's a really short run. CAT 5e or CAT 6 is best for longer runs. CAT 7 is total overkill in this case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can still use your old cables if you have to or don't want to buy new cables. You might get better speeds with Cat 7 cables. It really depends on your network cards. If your fine with your existing cables, just use them. I recommend getting new ones. Less problems in the future.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cat 5e is fine. It would be better to use cat 6 for better bandwidth but if your not doing a whole and dont have the money then stick with cat5e. Cat 7 is kinda overkill but always the best for bandwidth and shielding.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on how much speed you want the cable to transmit. If I’m not mistaken, unless you have a really old cat 5, it should be a cat 5e and that cable should transmit up to 1000mbps. So unless you have a modem and internet connection that’s past 1000mbps, you should be good. But it’s always a good idea to think about the future too.
