How long the batteries last isn't the real issue. Unfortunately, the batteries that this system runs on are very hard to find and then can be super expensive. Do your research on how much those batteries will cost and figure that you'll need to replace every 2-4 (or so) months, depending on usage. Stay away from major roads or trees. Remember, if there's a slight breeze, leafs will move and trigger the camera. As much as I love this system, the battery battle has me desperately looking elsewhere.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No siren. Don't put the cameras in a high traffic area or they'll drain in as little as 2-4 weeks. In an area where there is low traffic, up to 4 months is what I'm getting. I don't have kids or pets now, so there's not a lot of in-and-out traffic and they last decently well. But if people are coming and going constantly in your camera areas and you don't want to turn them off, you might want to explore something that uses A/C power.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on usage of cameras. 3-6 months. No alarm, but SMS to your phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had the system for a little over a month now and there is still 2/3 battery left. I would assume then that the batteries would last another two months. The batteries drained a little more the first week I had it as I was tweaking the settings so that it wasn't recording all the time, so maybe the batteries will last more than 3 months. We'll see. There is no siren sound on the cameras. The two internal ones do have speakers however, so you could have it play a sound when motion is detected using a IFTTT recipe (https://ifttt.com/arlo). It probably wouldn't be loud like an alarm system siren though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the app will tell you when to change the battery but I will tell you to be prepared to buy batteries every two weeks.
