You will probably be ok without an extender, but a lot depends on your house. I found that large mirrors in bathrooms act to cut down the signal in the master bedroom. If the kitchen is between you and your router this may also attenuate the signal. If you decide you need an extender you should not put it near the router, but place it at some distance between the router and where you most often plan to use the wifi signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Place Netgear EX7000 range extender where you want to increase the signal. I use this combination (Netgear R8000 router and EX7000 range extender) in a single level home. Approximately 44 feet away from router, I am getting 100% instead of 42%. I also have one at a building next door which is about 200 feet away. Router is next to window and range extender is next to window at other building. It has improved the signal at that location significantly also. Download and use Wifi Analytics to check your signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would only need this device if you're having troubles with wifi dead spots or slow speeds in your home in certain rooms
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.MY LINSYS EA9500 WOULD WORK FOR ME in remote areas with some buffering on TV. BUT I WANTED GREAT SPEED AND STRENGTH OF SIGNAL. This extender gave me both. Now I have no buffering.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a LInksys EA9500 (TRI BAND) downstairs. This is suppose the be the very top of the line router. By placing the extender upstairs. My signal strength is as good as when I am downstairs using the routers local ports or wireless. Beware that you have to create new connections for the extender. I change my connections when I move from upstairs to downstairs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For future reference, this is an extender. It is to help your WiFi connection stretch further in your home. If for example your house is big, but your router is all the way to the far left of the house, you would want the extender somewhere around the middle of your home to help the far right side receive a connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you are having problems with WIFI signal strength somewhere in your home (or if applicable yard), I wouldn't bother with the expense of a WIFI range extender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This extender will not make your actual router "better." It extends the signal from your router to a broader area. No, I would not put it on the same floor as your router, that would defeat the purpose. The extender is for a situation, for example, where your router is on the first floor and you don't get no or poor signal on the third floor. You would put the extender on the second or third floor to boost the signal to the location where it is poor. If your router is on the middle floor, and you get a good signal in all parts of your house, then you would not "need" this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have your router on the middle floor it might be overkill and not make much difference. Where the extender works best is if you have a router in the basement or 3rd floor and want to extend to those areas that are farthest away from the router. Wi-Fi can also be effected by the construction of your house. If you feel like there are dead zones in the house where the Wi-Fi is not performing well... maybe try the extender on that floor and see if it improves.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This extender is for use where people have dead zones or the WiFi is very slow because of the distance to the router. This unit is place between the router and the dead zone to boost the WiFi signal.
