No- you need additional software in order to use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t think so. You need to load the software first, and I don’t believe Sony’s PlayStation OS was an option, just Windows and Mac. Unless you can write your own drivers or download from someone else, I’d double check the online users guide before purchasing for that purpose. No matter how fast any given wireless device is, you’re going to get far better performance with a direct hardwired Ethernet connection to your console.

There is a software disc that has to be installed on the hard drive to be able to instruct the device to work but, once that is complete, then it is a simple "plug and play" device that has worked flawlessly for me on a PC. As I said, however, not sure about how it would work with a PS5.
