QuestionI have a Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri-Band WIFI Router, does this replace my current router, or extends my current router? Is it stronger than my current router?

- Answer The mesh system will extend your current router coverage through your house/condo/apt. You’ll plug run an Ethernet cable (included) from your current router to the nighthawk router, and then set up the 2 satellites. I just moved into a condo about a month ago and picked up the nighthawk mesh system because my condo is very long with concrete walls. Prior to installing the mesh system I was not getting a signal at all on the far end of my condo. After installing, I am getting very good results. I have gig service coming into my unit and average about 923mbps on all three mesh routers. I’ve been extremely happy with the results. He sure to read the instructions and make the satellites are in range of each other. Pretty simple to set up as well. Hope that helps a little.

QuestionI want to connect one satellite via ethernet to the router. I want to connect satellite via ethernet to a computer. I see two ethernet connections in the back of the satellite. Can one be used for an inbound signal or will it be wireless inbound?

- Answer Wireless inbound- the satellites connect to the base via WiFi- the two ports allow you to connect to the satellite via Ethernet cable

QuestionIf I were to place one of the extenders outside, under shelter, would this be an issue? Would not be exposed directly to precipitation or sun.

- Answer I would not hesitate to place one outside, as long as it was sheltered from the elements. They do require a plug-in for power, but that is it.

- Answer It will provide a very good WiFi network in your house. You still need an ISP (Internet Service Provider) for external messages, etc.

QuestionI'll need to install the router on the 2nd floor of my house and the 2nd satellite in my basement (1st satellite will be on main floor). Is the signal strong enough to reach the 2nd satellite in my basement?

- Answer Only via a MAC address you can block all the time or based on a schedule. The subscription allows you to group devices to a user (child) and filter all their devices based on content, on demand, on time limits and reward them with time extensions.

QuestionI have xfinity, but my internet is located on the second floor where my desk is. The problem is that the basement often doesn't get very good WiFi connectivity. Would the Nighthawk AX3600 Tri-Band WiFi 6 help? I have a Netgear X4S now. But I need help.

- Answer Yes it will! I too had the same problem and I set up the router on my main floor, put one satellite in the basement and one satellite on the second floor. I have excellent connectivity and speed on all three floors! I also have the luxury of having ethernet to the second floor so instead of connecting that satellite to the router wirelessly I have it connected direct. The other one in the basement is wireless 5 Mgz and both work equally well. I love this router system and it is priced way better than Orbi. Not paying for a name!

QuestionI saw 1 question where a person asked if one of the satellites could be wired Ethernet to the main router. It was answered no, that it had to be wifi communication between them. Then a person said they did hard wire it. So can it be done or no?

- Answer The satellite has two ethernet connections so presumably you coud hard wire the satellite to the router. I have a wired LAN in my house but never tried to connect the satellites direcly to the LAN. I always set is up wirelessly. I have several devices wired to the satellites and the connections work fine (several of the devices are hard-wire only). But when you power up the satellite it automatically looks for the router wirelessly so I am not sure if I would know when it was wirelessly connected and when it was using the wired connection. Presumably there is some indication on the router homepage but I haven't looked for it.

- Answer ANSWER: Router - This mesh system is a router and 2 satellite modules that can be placed 30-40 FT. from each other. You'll need to purchase your own modem or use modem from service provider(cable, satellite, phone). Hope this helps.

- Answer I don't know for sure , but as long as you have a modem, whether dsl, fiber or cable, this should work just fine. It is only a networking device and does not have an internal modem. Had it for a few weeks now and it's working great.

QuestionDoes this have a faster wifi speed than the wired connection? I also see it has gigablast ability is it limited to the wired connection speed?

- Answer Wired connection will always be generally faster than wifi. Yes, gigabit wifi speed is dependent on the speed of the wired connection. If wired speed is not gigabit, then wifi will not be gigabit. Wifi speed will only be as fast as the wired speed and most of the time, the wifi speed will be less than the wired connection speed, specially the farther you are away from the wifi router. Having said this though, the nighthawk mesh wifi is excellent compared to other wifi mesh routers I've used.

QuestionI presently have a nighthawk AX 2400 with an existing Netgear router extender. At times, my extender loses signal and then I have to wait for the signal to come back. Will this AX3600 improve the performance with my existing Wi-Fi router extender?

- Answer 75’ is a stretch for anything. I’d bury a cat6 cable between the buildings. It might work wireless but these are not directional antennas

- Answer If RV's are linear to house and router, place first mesh satellite 30-40 FT. from router and second mesh satellite 30-40 FT. from first satellite. You'll need to purchase an additional satellite / signal booster. This system is expandable. Relocating RV's closer to house and each other will improve signal strength. Instructions on system stipulate - for best signal strength, place satellite (1) up to 40 FT. from router and satellite (2) up to 40 FT. from Satellite (1). Again, system is expandable. Hope this helps you.

QuestionI purchased a AX3600. Easy set up however the 3rd cube isn’t working the red light is on. The 2nd cube is 10 feet away from the 3rd cube? Any suggestions?

- Answer Purchase a premium subscription. First, press the sync button on the satellite and main router several times. Or, on your own check the router internal performance, use router login.net to get in. You probably just need to unplug the main router, let it sit for a couple of minutes then plug it back in and see what you get. I had to reboot my system like that several times to get it to sync.
