FIOS requires a proprietary gateway, which will most likely include routing functions. You can hook your router up behind their unit so you control your personal network (LAN) before it connects to theirs (WAN), or you can use this as an access point, letting their unit do the routing while this simply provides the high-speed wireless AC connection to your home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You definitely need their gateway for the signal but you can definitely plug this into their gateway without a problem. First you will have to connect directly to it with eathernet cable and under administration go to LAN and you will have to change the default IP Address because they will both use 192.168.1.1.and you will have a conflict and you would only be able to log into one and not both. So change the IP on the Nighthawk to 192.168.2.1 and click apply or save. So Verizon should be default 192.168.1.1 and Nighthawk 192.168.2.1 and you should be good to go. Make sure you plug eathernet cable from Verizon gateway to yellow port in back of Nighthawk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cant speak for verizon, however i use fiber with Pioneer and tgey have thier fiber box in the garage and its output is ethernet, therfore i use this router or any routher for that matter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If I'm not mistaken, FIOS uses a coaxial-like cable for their modem-routers. You should still be able to configure your router to connect to that modem router, if you're trying to lock the system further down. It is all based on your settings & such... Hope this helps...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will work with FIOS, however you will need one of their routers as well. You could then plug their router into this one. If you don't need the added range or customization I would stick with the FIOS router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I have used it with both FiOS and Broadband with the modems provided by the different companies. This is the best Wireless router with the strongest signal that I have owned over the years.
