When I installed the Orbi system in my home, I turned off Wifi in my U-verse router to enable the Orbi to assume that role which it is intended to do using a mesh throughout the home. I then connected the main unit to my modem, changed the settings and then installed the 2 additional satellites. Prior to having the Orbi, my wifi was absolutely horrendous, I was constantly having to reboot. We had one bedroom which received no signals at all. With an abundance of cell phones, iPads, computers, playstation and TV's all competing for space in a multi-story home, the U-Verse system was overwhelmed and unable to handle more than 2 or three at a time. Since installing Orbi, I no longer have to reboot period! The system allows us to connect from anywhere within the home to include the garage using seemingly unlimited sources. The family is no longer frustrated and there are no restraints. What a fantastic improvement this has made for us. Take the time in setting an Orbi system up and you should be rewarded handsomely.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mesh is a new router to extend your WiFi signal throughout your home. In some cases even outside and garage area depending on the size of your home. There is one which is your router that connects to your existing modem. The others depending on the sustem you choose one or two extenders send the WiFi signals in areas that you may have dead spots. It’s worth it get it.

For instance, I setup my router next to my modem where my previous router was and placed (1) satellite near my Smart TV and the other satellite near my desktop computer. You do need to plug them in and they communicate with the main router. It took me two times to get the setting right so be patient if you're doing this yourself. You have to install the Orbi App on your phone or tablet and it tales you through the setup. I mentioned in my review that it's a bit pricey but if you're streaming and using multiple devices, it's worth it in my opinion. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From your modem that companies give you when you sign up, a wire connects to the MAIN wireless router. This MAIN router ORBI will provide a wireless internet "Wi-Fi" signal to the room it's located in, as well as send that signal to the physically smaller satellite ORBI devices located in other rooms, so that the wireless "Wi-Fi" internet signal will be just as strong in other parts of the home as it is where the MAIN ORBI unit is located. All ORBI units will also give either 2(satellite) or 3(main) ethernet cable wired outputs, which are known to be a more "stable" connection to your phone, laptop, gaming, etc., devices. Hope this helps! Good luck! Ours works really well!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s a WiFi router on steroids. The three towers act as one and offer amazing speeds, little drop off and super easy to set up and connect to modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A mesh system uses additional wireless satellites in conjunction with your main router to increase signal coverage. The mesh piece specifically means that as you move around and transition from one satellite/access point to another, you won't drop connection and it will hand the connection over seamlessly.
