Yes, the Orbi satellites support an Ethernet backhaul connection. More information about it can be found here: https://kb.netgear.com/000051205/What-is-Ethernet-backhaul-and-how-do-I-set-it-up-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-System
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can connect the satellites to the router via an Ethernet cable. The reason for doing this is for a more reliable connection. However, if you have a good WiFi connection, you may not notice any appreciable difference between the two options.

It will help you solve the problem of being unable to connect to the orbi router. https://www.orbilog-in.com/troubleshooting/cant-connect-orbi-router-with-satellite/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure if you can connect the satellites via ethernet, but the main point of these is to extend wifi without running cables. You should get great great wifi performance from the satellites, i am getting the full cable modem throughput (235M down 11M up) even though the router is in my basement on the opposite side of the house from my second story office. The satellite in my office is actually connected to a satellite in the basement and not directly to the router and i still get great throughput.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You connect the Orbi Router to your internet router and the Orbi satellite connects back to the Orbi Router via wireless. Netgear claims that the router to satellite link runs at 1.7Gbps, which is faster than using a cat6 cable between the orbi router and satellite. I've been using the newer Orbi AC3000 for the past month and have noticed consistently fast performance when connected via wifi to the remote satellite. 5Ghz is claimed to give 866Mbps and I consistently get between 500 and 750Mbps via speed test (comcast cable) when connected via wifi and the remote orbi. If you intended to connect the Orbi router and Orbi satellite to the same internet router via a cable then I think you'll end up with some network funk and a possible loop situation. The Orbi Satellite will still try and connect to the Orbi router but the two would also be on the same wired network too. Not a good situation - but it would be interesting to see what situation you end up with... ;)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Do not know why you would do this. The transmitter and satellite units communicate via a special high-speed backbone rf connection.
