QuestionI live in a 1500 sq ft home.. is one Orbi Router acceptable? I play video games a lot. I have been utilizing this one Orbi with an ArrisSB6190. 348mbps Download Speed. 23mb Upload/Spectrum & Speed test.

- Answer The RBR50 Orbi router was designed to cover approximately 2,500 sq. ft., so you should be fine with the single router placed centrally in your home. If you need to place it closer to one end of the house and notice a weak signal where your gaming device is located, we would recommend adding on an RBS50 (Orbi satellite).

QuestionA ? from a previous answer:"if you already own an Orbi router and satellite and require additional coverage, you can add a 2nd satellite in a satellite-router-satellite config". Does this mean the 2nd Sat. has to be plugged directly in like the first?

- Answer The short answer is Yes. You'll also want them to be at least 60 feet away from each other. Personally, I've had all sorts of issues with the Orbi from buffering to drops all day long. It's not worth the money in my opinion but I'm well past the return date.

- Answer Yes it works great with Spectrum. I have 100mbs down and according to fast.com I'm usually getting 120.

QuestionIf I already have an Orbi Router AND Satellite. Can I purchase this and add it to my existing network? Or is there a separate "satellite" Orbi that has to be purchased if it is to be used with an existing network? I hope this make sense?

- Answer You will need to buy another satellite. This is the main router and Netgear advises on the situation you described. They say adding another router can cause network problems. They advise on using one router and adding satellites.

- Answer The Orbi router system was designed to break through traditional WiFi barriers. It depends more on the distance from your router to your satellite or wireless devices. If your device in the basement is on the opposite end of a very large home from where your router is located on the 2nd floor, you may want to consider adding an Orbi Satellite or Orbi Wall Plug to your network.

QuestionHas anyone tried to use this for gaming? I currently have the NETGEAR - AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless-AC Range Extender and while it has improved my speed, it disconnects once every hour, on the hour for some unknown reason. Any help is greatly appreciated.

- Answer Ben, I use it for gaming. I just have the Orbi router too. I've had it since February on a 300MBP/S Spectrum connection. Connected to a Motorola Arris Modem. Upstairs when I do a speed test it says 359mbps. I use PS4 Pro on it. Hope this helps! I would recommend it. The range is epic. I've experienced ZERO drop of signal. Hasn't happened at all.

QuestionI currently have a Netgear AC1750 combination router/modem. Do I need to disable the router to connect this? or will plugging it in and powering it up automatically disable the current router?

- Answer Hi, Patty... You have the option of turning off the WiFi signal in your current combo device and replacing it with the Orbi signal, or running the Orbi alongside it in Access Point mode. QuestionHave FRONTIER telephone internet. Also live in the Adirondack Mountains. The signal we get with the current netgear router, constantly has to reconnect. Will getting this system solve our problem of connection as well as adding more rooms to connect in?

- Answer What kind of speeds does you provider say you should be getting? This system will give you strong wifi throughout your home but if you aren't getting great speeds from your provider this won't help a lot. This just gives you the ability to wirelessly connect more devices, I'm running about 20 things wireless and direct connect and it's pushing strong signal all over the house with no slow downs.

- Answer The Orbi router will require a direct connection to your home's modem via Ethernet cable. The satellite is designed to connect wirelessly to the Orbi router. Each device will cover approximately 2,000 sq. ft. Additionally, you have the option of either turning off your Fios WiFi signal and strictly using the Orbi's signal (recommended) or you can run the Orbi in Access Point mode alongside your Fios router. Instructions to set up the Orbi in AP mode are located beginning on page 72 of the User Manual: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBK50#docs. - Answer No it is not usable. Supposedly it's used to communicate to the satellite. However, you also can't choose whether you want to use 2.4 or 5, it uses a steering mechanism that doesn't work well at all. I have a lot of buffering even when directly plugged into the router and/or satellite.
