Yes. When you purchase the product you get two units. One plugs into the rear of your modem/router, the second unit is placed in an outlet close to your PC or TV. connect the unit to the device you want your WiFi hardwired to using the included Cat 6 Cable or purchase one the length you need. Once both units are installed push the sync button on the bottom of the unit attached to the modem/router for two seconds, and then push the sync button on the bottom of the unit attached to your device for two seconds. Once that is completed and your device is turned on there are three lights on the Netgear product which will all light green with a solid connection and you are good to go. By the way, have four of these in my home because my new home does not have any Ethernet ports either. Hope this helps you, and congratulations on your new place.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You won't need an ethernet port in the wall. Plug in one device into a 110V wall socket near your router and connect it to your router via ethernet. Plug the mating device into a wall socket in your house where you want to work and then another ethernet cable from that device to your laptop. Takes <1 min to setup (follow instructions) to get the two devices to pair up.
