Yes. Place ethernet cable in slot in your cable modem. Place other end in one of the units and plug it into the electric outlet. Find an electrical outlet near your security camera. Plug second unit into this outlet. Lights should turn green if you have a connection between the two units. Plug the ethernet cable into the second unit and the other end into your camera.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did this to use ethernet over power to power my POE cams. Plugged it an outlet in my attic then plugged in a poe USB hub in the attic. Plug cameras into the USB hub. I support 3 cameras. The key is getting a poe USB hub.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure. I checked the Quick Start Guide it comes with and doesn't mention this. It says to Use an Ethernet cable to connect your wired devices, including computers, WiFi Routers, or game consoles, to your Powerline network. I hope this helps.
