A:AnswerTo get a hard wired connection where one does not exist. My router is on the basement. I plug one unit into the router downstairs and the other unit into a computer upstairs.
A:AnswerYou have to connect one unit to modem via wire and the other would have to be connected to TV if their is a place to connect. No sure if smart TVs have that connection but may. Its the same cord on both ends that you connect your modem to main computer etc.
A:AnswerI’d recommend trying this device in then performing a speed test to see what your wireless signal is at. You might also consider a Mesh network system like Orbi for example. Works similar to the power line AC1200, but is much stronger and depending on which model you look at can hardwire multiple devices at once. All you need is power outlet and use the app (if it comes with) to setup in your smartphone or tablet.
A:AnswerIf you haven’t moved any of the plugs, changed wiring connectors etc, there is no reason this should happen. Except if you had an electrical event like a brown out call the customer service folks to help you reset the units. The same happened to me but I hadn’t synced them properly. Good luck
A:AnswerYes, but your router will either need 5 ports for all 5 cameras or you will need to buy a port to add in. I wouldn't recommend this if you have a lower grade Router as it probably won't be able to handle all the traffic.
A:AnswerI actually don't know. I just purchased the device so that my television in a remote area area of my house could be connected. If I were you, I would contact Powerline company. I would register your device with the company and submit an email question. You probably will be best served by using exactly the same question that you posed to Best Buy customers. I actually did that. But I figured out the answer to my question before they responded. I would actually be interested in the response that the company gives you in case I ever wanted to use my 1200 adapter for a more robust application.
A:AnswerIt's possible to add a third adapter to the network of two already in the house. The third device needs to be paired (there is a button on the adapter to do this), but once paired it will participate in the same network. The only pitfall might be the location of the third adapter; if the electrical run is too far or if it is on another phase than the other two, you may not be able to pair it.
A:AnswerIt sounds like what you need is somewhere to plug the voip in to ethernet, near the voip device. This would accomplish that. You would need to connect one of these units to your Internet (router) via ethernet cable. Then, locate the second unit near your voip device and connect those two via ethernet
A:AnswerNo. It requires an Ethernet connection from the router to the first plug. That plug is connected to an electrical outlet. The second plug is connected to an electrical outlet and an Ethernet wire is run from that to your supported device.
