QuestionHi, I do NOT have an internet/cable provider. i was wondering if a router alone would provide wifi? or would i need to actually have optimum, xfinity, direct tv etc something to receive wifi ?

- Answer The router will provide wifi in that you will see a wireless network you can connect to. But without an internet provider, there will be no data for your router to send. So, if you want to access the internet, stream movies, etc., you must have an internet provider.

- Answer Yes it does! And it works very well. You will need to purchase modem also, if you don't already have one. I purchased the Motorola 8x4 DOCSIS 30 and the combo works well together.

QuestionMy present router is an old Netgear 54 mbps wireless router.I live in an apartment, and only use wireless for my printer, cell, and Ipad. My Ipad often loses connectivity when playing games. Is the N600 enough for what I need?

- Answer More than enough. Even though it has 5G, the 2.4G band will do the job. If you decide to run 5g, keep the router close as distances are limited and your devices need to support 5g as well!

- Answer Yes it will work. I have Service Electric in NJ and it works fine but most routers would. Very easy set up. Just plue the enternet (yellow) into the Service elect modem and then into the router and you are ready to go.

- Answer I just bought a new router for the very same reason because my existing router was a plain base model only able to send up to 54mbps out but I was only getting around 15. With this new Netgear router I'm getting over 100gbps!!! No issues anymore with my firestick. Just make sure your modem and router can handle at least 100mbps and make sure your internet plan is supplying you with at least 75mbps.

Questionif you are just using the ethernet ports for connections, in my case to the computer and tv, is the wi-fi still 'on', emitting waves? if so, can you disable the wi-fi?

- Answer Yea you can through the app but there is no need to unless you have children like I do so you need to make a night hawk account then you can control your Router there set times, turn off internet to just the device and so much more even hen you are not there

- Answer well i have this router and i get 95 MB download upload speedsm im on spectrum as well with 60 MB MPBS plan, maybe you need to configure some channels or just chat with support and request an autosetting they would be able to configure the router and maybe it would solve the problem

- Answer No. Any wireless router can be connected to your Xfinity Modem to expand your networks functionality. There is a port on the router, which is clearly marked, that is used for the internet. You just need to plug a cat6 ethernet cable into a jack on the modem an into the internet port on the router then attach the router to your computer and follow the instructions. If you don't have a cat6 cable or are not sure what that is (it is stamped on the outside of the cable) you can still use any other cable, such as the one that comes with the router, that will fit but it may lose some speed if the cable is too long.

- Answer Okay so this is tricky. You can, but you must first call Verizon and tell them to switch your current WiFi router into just a modem. Right now, your wireless router is handing out IP addresses to all devices on your network, if you hook another router up within that network, you'll create an IP loop (conflicting IP's) and it will mess everything up. Once Verizon has turn off the DHCP/WIRELESS transmissions from their router, then unhook all connections from it and plug them into the N750. So what it should look like is: 1) Cable wire running from wall to your Fios Router 2) Ethernet Cable running from your Fios Router to your N750 3) Any other hard connections running into the 1-4 Ethernet ports on your N750 4) Setup your N750 wireless router, then connect all devices to it.
