They claim that it has protections built in to avoid draining your car's battery while parked. There is also a setting for the voltage of the 12V battery below which the camera will stop drawing power. As for the monthly service fees; they currently have published a list of 3 subscription tiers. Go https://nextbase.com/smart-dash-cams/iq-smart-dash-cam/ and scroll down to the chart.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The monthly fee is about 20 bucks The service is horrible, it took me over a week to contact them when I had a problem with my account. They never fixed the problem, my camera was installed and they kept asking me for a serial number. I had my account for about 8 months. I could not get a password reset. Worst customer service ever
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Despite their no battery drain claim, my car's battery was dead on the 2nd morning after my iQ was installed. Apparently the security system's led flashing on the dash gets reflected on the garage door and the camera likes to record it every minute while on parking mode. So obviously, the battery was drained, and I needed to jump start the car, it's amazing how some of the claims the company makes are flat out lies, such as the battery will not be drained, and also you can speak to the people in the car through the camera.
