Good Afternoon, Yes, you can replace the BNC cabling with Ethernet (CAT 5 / CAT 6) cabling by purchasing a BNC to POE Video Balun. We sell them on our Night Owl website, should you be unable to find them at Best Buy. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have no idea what a cat 5 cable is. But you will need the right cable to go to dvr. The adapters are for adding cables for additional footage. I would use Nite Owl cables that came with the system. This other cable may distort the clarity of the picture.

Please try again later.This system actually has an Ethernet port built in so there is no adapter needed I have a cat 6 cable hooked up on my system which I'm pretty sure has a faster transfer rate than cat 5 Good luck and don't be shy if your serious about it buy it, super clean quality with the video
