No, it does not have a battery backup, but it can be plugged into a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). In order to keep monitoring from your smart device, your router will need to be plugged into the UPS as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine hasn't been altered by the power going out. I am unsure as to whether or not it stayed on once the power went out as I was sleeping; however, once I woke up, the system was still fully functional with the correct date/time.

Keep in mind, you may want to have your router plugged into a UPS as well, so that in the event your power goes out both the system and router stay on.
