The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II lens is completely compatible with the Nikon D3100 camera and is versatile enough to cover a wide range of subjects such as portraits, landscapes and group shots and is about 19.8 ounces (1.23 pounds) in weight. There are lighter lenses like the AF-S DX NIKKOR18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR which is approximately 17.3 ounces (1.08 pounds), however, it may not give you the ease of range that you are looking for in a lens.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is definitely an all around camera and if you want to only carry around one lens than this is the one for you. For me it is the perfect weight with my Nikon D500 but if you want an exact weight, you can always check google.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can't say enough about how great this Nikon 18-200mm lens is. For years I had an 18-55mm and a 55-200mm and was constantly changing my lenses, sometimes missing out on amazing wildlife photo opportunities during the process. The Nikon 18-55 takes phenomenal pictures. Its not super light, but I carry around a small camera backpack that keeps the weight balanced. I highly recommend this lens. For super close ups on my nature adventure trips, I also have the Sigma 150-600mm lens that I use with a tripod. It's heavy, but at that size it is to be expected. It's spectacular.
I would recommend:
