- Answer The one main difference between these two AF-S 18-300mm lenses is the weight; the Product 2216 (f/3.5-6.3G) lens is 19.6 ounces as compared to the Product 2196 (f/3.5-5.6) lens, which is 29.3 ounces. This is because there are more elements in the Product 2196 lens than in the Product 2216 lens which improve the user experience. In addition there is a focus distance indicator on the lens barrel of Product 2196 along with an extra setting option for Vibration Reduction. - Answer The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens (Product 2196) listed here does have some differences from the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR lens (Product 2216). One of the differences is weight; the 18-300mm (Product 2196) lens listed here is 29.3 ounces while the Nikon 18-300mm (Product 2216) lens is a lighter 19.6 ounces. This is because there are more elements in the listed (Product 2196) lens than with the 18-300mm (Product 2216) lens. Another difference is that the AF-S 18-300 (Product 2196) has second generation Vibration Reduction technology that allows it to have exceptional sharpness with approximately 3.5 stops as compared to the AF-S 18-300 (Product 2216), which has approximately 4 stops. - Answer The 18-300mm lens is not prone to zoom creep. It has a zoom lock that prevents the lens from extending under its own weight while the camera is being carried from place to place.

- Answer The 18-300mm 5.6 uses a 77mm filter, the 18-300mm 6.3 uses a 67mm filter. Not a question of old or new but the 5.6 lens is a larger diameter and uses a 77mm filter compared to the smaller diameter 6.3 lens which uses a 67mm filter.

For a lens choice that will allow you to the get quality images without a 1.5 DX crop try looking into FX lenses like the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5 -5.6G ED VR Standard Zoom or the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED. - Answer I know it works with three generations of Nikon DSLRs, a D7200, D300 and even a D50, so it should work with any other Nikon DSLR.

- Answer The 18-300mm 5.6 is noticeably heavier that the 18-200 5.6, if you haven't bought a the 18-200 5.6 yet, the 18-300mm 5.6 is a clear choice specially as the sole lens to carry around.

- Answer I would recommend using an FX vs.DX lens on your D750. regardless of compatibility because vignetting will be an issue at wider angles of view.
