• Yes, and yes. It is compatible with DX format & F-type lens mount cameras which the 7100 is. It offers both auto and manual focus which is actually controlled by a switch on the side of the lens. So be careful not to turn it to manual! Also, make sure you understand that this lens has no zoom capability. It is a prime lens and not a telephoto.
