QuestionHow close will the macro take a sharp picture if it does have macro?

- Answer The Nikon COOLPIX AW130 digital camera does have a macro feature. Once placed in macro you will see an indicator bar displayed at the top of the screen. When the zoom ratio is set to a position in the bar that is colored green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as approximately 10 cm (4 inches) from the lens. When the zoom position is at the wide-angle and in the middle of this colored area of the bar the camera can focus on subjects as close as approximately 1 cm (0.4 inches) from the lens. This allows you to get super sharp and vivid images at very close range.

QuestionI did not get a manual for my CoolpixAW130Can I get one on line? Also I have the old Coolpix, it's easy to charge the battery. Do I always have to leave the door to the battery open to charge?

- Answer Due to the waterproofing design of the Nikon COOLPIX AW130 the battery door must stay open during charging. If you would like a downloadable manual they can be found on Nikon’s website.

- Answer It was available May 7, 2015 when I bought mine. I also wrote a review. While mine was Orange, it is really more of a Red/Orange...I really do like the color and the camera, esp. the app for iOS so that I can view pictures and even snap them remotely.

- Answer The Nikon COOLPIX AW130 digital camera has three options for the Self-timer feature; 10 seconds, 2 seconds and Off. Once the shutter is released the Self-timer automatically sets itself back to the default Off option.

- Answer Camera is easy enough to take simple pics. But if you change a setting it's a bit cluncky and the controls could be better for menu navigation. But it is durable

- Answer Yes. Yellow. And the yellow is, reportedly, the only AW130 made for sale in the USA. The others are "Gray Market" - not guaranteed by the manufacturer in the USA.

- Answer The Nikon COOLPIX AW130 digital camera offers up two scenes modes for taking images at night. One is "Night Portrait", which allows you to take portraits of a large number of people at night, or images at night where there is a large background. Another is the handheld option for "Night Landscape" which allows you to capture a series of images when the shutter-release button is pressed fully down. These images are then combined into a single image and saved. When using the Tripod option in "Night Landscape" only one image is captured at a slow shutter speed when the shutter-release button is pressed all the way. These options will allow you to get amazing images of any night time landscape or sky subjects. If you are looking to take closer images of stars and sky you may want to look into the all-new Nikon COOLPIX A900 digital camera, which offers up three options for taking time lapse images of the stars in addition to the Scenes "Night Landscape" and "Night Portrait".

- Answer The lens on the AW130 is a different lens than what was incorporated on the AW100. Both are 5x optical zoom, however, the AW130 lens has a "faster" aperture at wide angle than the AW100. Better for taking shots in lower light situations - the lens will let in more light when shooting at wide angle.

- Answer The camera is no longer in production and will be discontinued. I returned mine after warranty failed to fix a charging issue. I wouldn't recamend wasting your money on this model. The charging port is under a sealed cover, the micro plug fails to charge but does flash the charging light. Frustrating.
