Q: QuestionHow is the battery life?I've had a camera in the past that just basically ate my batteries. They would only last 15 minutes then I had to switch out.

• A:Answer Battery life with AA-type batteries will depend on the type of AA's you are using. AA Alkaline: 590 shots, AA Lithium: 1240 shots, EN-MH2: 740. In addition, if you are taking video, these battery life numbers will decrease as video takes a lot of processing power in the camera. It will drain the batteries quicker.

• A:Answer The camera is made of a hard plastic material, like most all cameras. It's metallic purple color looks as if it could be metal, but it is plastic.

Q: QuestionAperture, shutter speed, and ISOI'm just trying to figure out how to change the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on this camera. I've googled it but I can't find any luck. Help please!

• A:Answer The COOLPIX L840 does not include the option to manually select your shutter speed or aperture, the camera will select these for you based on your other settings. When shooting in Auto Mode (not Scene Auto Selector), you can select your ISO sensitivity settings by accessing the Shooting Menu and navigating to ISO Sensitivity. See page 83 of the COOLPIX L840 Reference Manual for more information on adjusting your ISO.

• A:Answer The date and time is not effected by swapping out the battery. The camera has an internal battery that will retain the date and time settings. It is not related to the batteries used to take pictures.

Q: QuestionIs there a delay when pressing the shutter before capturing the image making it unsuitable for sporting and action events?

• A:Answer There is a slight delay when pressing the shutter when the camera is in Auto mode or Auto Scene. However, it has a Sports setting which I have not noticed to have a delay. I have been able to get great action shots. The only blur I have experienced in the Sports setting is because I moved while taking the picture.

Q: Questionwith wi-fi can I send pictures to other phones

• A:Answer There are a couple of ways that this can be done. The COOLPIX L840 works with Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Utility App to communicate; taking pictures as well as seeing what pictures are on the cameras SD card. Once they are on one phone, you can use the OS on the phone to send it over to another phone. Or, if you can use the camera's NFC capability and tap phone to phone to transfer pictures (this is only compatible with Android based phones) once the pictures are on the phone. One thing to note, the camera cannot communicate wirelessly to multiple phones/tablets at one time. It is one phone/tablet at a time.
