No, This is to adapt F mount lenses to Z cameras. Your D5200 should not need any adapter for the lens and will work as long as the lens has a built in focus motor. However if you have a Z series camera, that lens should work with the FTZ adaptor. The only negative would be using a lens without a built in focus motor. You can still use a lens like that, but the Z cameras do not turn the screw drive on the older lenses and you will have to manually focus those older lenses.
