The COOLPIX P100 takes a Nikon EN-EL5 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery. This battery can be charged while in the camera using the EH-68P Charging AC Adapter and a USB cable, both of which are supplied with the camera. With the battery in the camera, plug the USB into the camera and into the EH-68P, then plug the EH-68P into power. If the Charge By Computer setting in the camera’s Setup Menu is set to Auto then the camera can also be charged when its connected to a computer via USB. The optional MH-61 battery charger can be used to charge an EN-EL5 outside of the camera.
